QUALIFICATIONS: Georgia PSC Certification at the T-4 level or higher
REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares for assigned classes with grade-level and district-level teachers and shows written evidence of preparation.
- Instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Plans a program of study that provides differentiation to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Establishes and maintains a standards-based classroom.
- Strives to implement Common Core Georgia Performance Standards and Georgia Performance Standards instructional goals and objectives.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides on-going two-way communication to parents regarding their child’s progress via Parent Portal, My Big Campus, progress reports, and/or report cards.
- Reviews data for any student taught to determine if further Tiers of Intervention are necessary for that student.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and regulations.
- Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
- Maintains professional learning competencies.
- Attends faculty meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
- Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics.
- Shall perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the local school system.
