QUALIFICATIONS:  Georgia PSC Certification at the T-4 level or higher

 

REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL

 

The Agriculture position will plan and implement programs with other Agriculture teachers in the Toombs County School System while also serving the needs of the community. Experience in agriculture mechanics, horticulture, agribusiness, animal science, SAE projects, and serving/leading a local FFA Chapter are strongly preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders to achieve student success, deliver effective instruction and ensure positive public relations with parents and community members. Position duties require extended day and year. Applicant must be willing to obtain CDL license endorsements for transportation of students.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares for assigned classes with grade-level and district-level teachers and shows written evidence of preparation.                                                                                                             
  2. Instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.                                                                                                             
  3. Plans a program of study that provides differentiation to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.                                                                                                             
  4. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.                                                                                                             
  5. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.                                                                                                             
  6. Develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.                                                                                                             
  7. Establishes and maintains a standards-based classroom.                                                                                                             
  8. Strives to implement Common Core Georgia Performance Standards and Georgia Performance Standards instructional goals and objectives.                                                                                                             
  9. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides on-going two-way communication to parents regarding their child’s progress via Parent Portal, My Big Campus, progress reports, and/or report cards.                                                                                                             
  10. Reviews data for any student taught to determine if further Tiers of Intervention are necessary for that student.                                                                                                             
  11. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.                                                                                                             
  12. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and regulations.                                                                                                             
  13. Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.                                                                                                             
  14. Maintains professional learning competencies.                                                                                                             
  15. Attends faculty meetings and serves on staff committees as required.                                                                                                             
  16. Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics.                                                                                                             
  17. Shall perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the local school system.
